Job Summary

As a Field Service Technician / Engineer, you will be responsible for the installation, commissioning, maintenance, and troubleshooting of residential, commercial, and industrial solar PV systems. You will play a crucial role in ensuring the optimal performance and safety of our systems, while delivering outstanding service to our clients.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform on-site installation, commissioning, and servicing of solar PV systems and related electrical components (inverters, batteries, monitoring systems).

  • Conduct routine maintenance and inspections according to company protocols and manufacturer requirements.

  • Diagnose and repair faults, ensuring quick resolution to minimize system downtime.

  • Provide technical support and guidance to customers on system operation and performance.

  • Ensure all work complies with relevant safety regulations and quality standards.

  • Maintain accurate service records, reports, and documentation using mobile tools or company systems.

  • Collaborate with internal teams including project managers, design engineers, and customer service.

  • Support the training of junior technicians and share technical knowledge with the team.

  • Travel regularly within the Berlin region (and occasionally across Germany) to customer sites.

Requirements

  • Completed vocational training or degree in Electrical Engineering, Renewable Energy, Mechatronics, or a related field.

  • Proven experience in field service or hands-on work with solar PV systems, power electronics, or electrical installations.

  • Solid understanding of DC and AC electrical systems, grid connection requirements, and PV technologies.

  • Valid German Class B driver’s license.

  • Strong problem-solving skills and technical aptitude.

  • Fluent in German

  • Willingness to travel and work outdoors in varying conditions.

Nice to Have

  • Certification in solar PV installation (e.g. from TÜV or equivalent).

  • Knowledge of monitoring platforms (e.g. SolarEdge, SMA, Fronius).

  • Experience with battery storage systems or EV chargers.

  • Familiarity with remote diagnostic tools and digital service platforms.
