Payroll and Benefits Specialist
Location: Downtown Fort Lauderdale, FL – In-Office

We are supporting a high-growth organization seeking a skilled Payroll and Benefits Specialist to join their team. This is an in-office role based in downtown Fort Lauderdale, offering the chance to manage payroll and benefits operations within a dynamic and expanding business environment.

Role Overview
As a Payroll and Benefits Specialist, you will manage all aspects of payroll and employee benefits administration, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and efficiency. Key responsibilities include:

  • Entering and reviewing payroll data (weekly, bi-weekly, or monthly) for all employees.

  • Managing tax information, direct deposit, new hire processing, and terminations.

  • Auditing payroll data and employee status changes to ensure accuracy before payroll execution.

  • Administering benefits programs, including enrollment, terminations, auditing monthly invoices, and coordinating with managers and HR.

  • Ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local payroll and labor regulations.

  • Managing payroll and benefit system interfaces and preparing reports.

  • Administering COBRA, unemployment claims, and disability claims as needed.

  • Responding to employee payroll and benefits inquiries promptly and accurately.

Requirements

  • 2+ years’ experience with UKG or similar payroll software.

  • 2+ years of payroll experience.

  • Experience calculating compensation for both salaried and hourly employees is a plus.

  • Strong understanding of federal and state payroll and labor regulations.

  • Proficiency in Excel.

  • Clean driving, background, and drug screening record.
