Optical Satellite Communications Bid Manager

I’m looking for somoone to join a company that’s pushing the boundaries of optical satellite communications. They’re seeking someone who can leverage advanced optical engineering skills and program management experience to tackle a variety of challenges.

In this role, you’ll have the chance to think BIG and broaden your expertise beyond just one aspect of optical engineering. You’ll work with some of the most talented engineers in the industry, applying your knowledge to develop state-of-the-art optical instruments for applications like Earth observation, atmospheric monitoring, space situational awareness, and optical communications. You’ll lead a multidisciplined team in designing, testing, and validating products, from prototype to market.

Some of your key responsibilities will include evaluating and writing bids and proposals, estimating labor and timelines, managing requirements compliance, performing optical simulations and design, and collaborating with external vendors. You’ll also have the opportunity to visit customer sites, leading technical proposals while managing schedules and budgets.

This position requires U.S. citizenship due to contractual obligations, and candidates must have a Bachelor’s degree in a relevant technical discipline, with at least 8 years of relevant design and test experience. If you’re familiar with optical communications, simulation tools like Zemax or LightTools, and parametric mechanical modeling with tools like Solidworks, you’ll fit right in. We’re looking for self-motivated individuals who can take the initiative and lead projects with budgetary controls in mind.
