Project Manager – HR Technology & Business Applications

We’re looking for a self-sufficient, commercially minded Project Manager who can confidently manage a wide variety of projects across business applications, technology and HR systems.

This is not a senior leadership role, but we’re looking for someone beyond junior level who can take ownership of projects, think independently and work out the best way to get things done.

You don’t need to be a UKG specialist. UKG or HR technology experience is beneficial, but the ability to successfully manage different types of projects and applications is more important.

What you’ll be doing

• Taking ownership of projects from initiation through to successful delivery.
• Building project plans, timelines, milestones and delivery strategies.
• Managing multiple projects and applications across different areas of the business.
• Working with stakeholders to understand requirements, identify priorities and keep projects moving.
• Proactively identifying risks, dependencies and potential roadblocks before they become issues.
• Creating solutions and delivery plans rather than simply following predefined implementation methodologies.
• Coordinating internal teams, technical resources, vendors and business stakeholders.
• Managing project scope, timelines, budgets and expectations.
• Providing clear communication and project updates to stakeholders.
• Adapting your approach depending on the project, application and business requirements.
• Using your judgement to determine the best way to structure and deliver a project.

What we’re looking for

• Proven experience as a Project Manager, ideally at a mid-level.
• Experience managing a variety of project types, rather than specialising in one specific implementation.
• Strong organisational and planning skills, with the ability to create structure from ambiguity.
• A highly self-sufficient and proactive approach – you see what needs to be done and get on with it.
• Strong business acumen and the ability to understand the wider impact of project decisions.
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
• The confidence to make decisions, solve problems and adapt when projects don’t go exactly to plan.
• Someone who is comfortable working independently without needing a detailed implementation guide for every step.
• The ability to manage competing priorities and keep projects moving forward.

Desirable experience

• PMIP certification – a significant advantage and a strong indication that you understand core project management principles.
• UKG / UKG Pro / UKG Ready / UKG WFM experience.
• HRIS, HCM or other enterprise business application experience.
• Experience working across technology, systems or business transformation projects.
• Experience managing projects involving multiple applications, teams or third-party vendors.

The person

We’re looking for someone who thinks like a Project Manager, rather than simply follows a project plan.

You’ll be someone who can walk into a project, understand what needs to happen, build a sensible plan and proactively drive it forward.

You don’t need to have led large teams or managed complex programmes. Leadership isn’t the focus of this role. What matters is that you can take ownership, use your judgement, solve problems and successfully manage different types of projects.
