Company Overview:
We are an advanced defense technology startup focused on developing autonomous systems to counter modern aerial threats. Our flagship product is a compact, autonomous gun turret that utilizes cutting-edge computer vision and control algorithms to detect, track, and neutralize small drones and loitering munitions. This is a high-impact role in a technically ambitious environment, ideal for engineers seeking to push the boundaries of what’s possible in autonomous defense systems.
Our organization promotes a deeply technical culture where engineering excellence and innovation are core values. Backed by experienced founders with successful startup exits, we are building next-generation solutions designed to make a significant real-world difference.
What You’ll Do:
- Lead the development and refinement of real-time computer vision algorithms for drone detection, tracking, and classification.
- Design machine learning models optimized for resource-limited embedded systems without compromising performance.
- Collaborate with hardware engineers to integrate computer vision components into a robust and scalable system architecture.
- Conduct comprehensive testing and validation to ensure high performance across diverse and dynamic operational environments.
- Mentor and guide junior engineers, helping to shape the technical direction of the ML and computer vision efforts.
- Contribute to transforming prototype systems into deployable military-grade products, and support the creation of system variants for different mission requirements.
What You’ll Need:
- A deep, sustained interest in computer vision, machine learning, and robotics, demonstrated throughout your career.
- A Master’s degree (or higher) in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a closely related field, with a strong academic or project focus on vision and ML.
- 6+ years of experience in machine-learning-based computer vision, ideally with real-time or robotics systems.
- Demonstrated success in deploying robust computer vision systems, especially in safety-critical or high-reliability contexts.
- Advanced proficiency in Python and C++, and hands-on experience with ML frameworks like TensorFlow, PyTorch, or similar tools.
- Experience integrating vision algorithms into embedded systems and hardware platforms.
- Familiarity with a range of sensors (cameras, LIDAR, RADAR) and their use in autonomous applications.
- A collaborative mindset and enthusiasm for mentoring and solving interdisciplinary engineering challenges.
What We Offer:
- Competitive salary
- Equity participation
- Comprehensive health, dental, and vision insurance
- Generous paid time off
