Job Summary: The HSE Manager is responsible for developing, implementing, and overseeing health, safety, and environmental programs to ensure compliance with local and international regulations. This role will drive a strong safety culture, mitigate risks, and support sustainable environmental practices within the pharmaceutical manufacturing facility.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop, implement, and maintain HSE policies, procedures, and programs in line with regulatory and industry best practices.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant health, safety, and environmental regulations, including GMP, OSHA, EPA, and local governing bodies.
- Conduct risk assessments, safety audits, and environmental impact assessments to identify hazards and implement corrective actions.
- Provide training and guidance to employees and management on HSE protocols and best practices.
- Investigate incidents, near-misses, and safety concerns, ensuring root cause analysis and preventive measures are established.
- Monitor waste management, hazardous material handling, and environmental sustainability programs to align with corporate and regulatory standards.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate HSE principles into daily operations and new project developments.
- Maintain accurate records, reports, and documentation for internal use and regulatory compliance.
- Act as the primary contact for regulatory agencies and external auditors during inspections and assessments.
- Promote a proactive safety culture by leading HSE initiatives, campaigns, and employee engagement activities.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum of 4 years of HSE management experience in a pharmaceutical, biotech, or chemical manufacturing environment.
- Strong knowledge of GMP, OSHA, EPA, and other relevant health and safety regulations.
- Certified Safety Professional (CSP), NEBOSH, or equivalent HSE certification preferred.
- Experience with incident investigation methodologies such as Root Cause Analysis (RCA) or Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA).
- Excellent leadership, communication, and training skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with attention to detail.
