HVAC Technician (Commercial & Industrial Systems)
About the Role
We are looking for a highly skilled Journeyman or Master HVAC Technician to join our growing service team. This role is ideal for a technician who thrives on solving complex mechanical challenges across a wide range of commercial and industrial HVAC systems-including cooling towers, chillers, boilers, pumps, heat exchangers, pneumatic controls, and BAS-integrated equipment.
This is a field-based position performing service, diagnostics, repairs, and preventative maintenance for mission-critical and comfort-cooling environments across our customer portfolio.
Key Responsibilities
HVAC Service & Repair

Diagnose, service, and repair cooling towers, air-cooled and water-cooled chillers, boilers, RTUs, AHUs, and large-tonnage commercial systems.

Perform troubleshooting on mechanical, electrical, and control systems including VFDs, pumps, motors, heat exchangers, and hydronic systems.

Conduct advanced diagnostics for refrigerant circuits, low-voltage controls, and BAS-related issues.

Complete repairs such as bearing replacement, tube cleaning, coil repair, leak testing, brazing, and component replacement.
Preventative Maintenance

Execute scheduled PMs on cooling towers, chillers, boilers, pumps, fans, and filtration systems.

Inspect, clean, and service heat exchangers, condenser & evaporator tubes, valves, and system piping.
System Expertise

Read and interpret schematics, wiring diagrams, P&IDs, and mechanical drawings.

Work with BAS platforms (Johnson Controls, Siemens, Honeywell, Trane, etc.).

Ensure systems operate at optimal efficiency and meet manufacturer and safety specifications.
Safety & Compliance

Follow OSHA safety practices, lockout/tagout, confined space procedures, and hot work requirements.

Maintain EPA compliance for refrigerant handling.
Customer Interaction

Communicate system conditions, findings, and repair recommendations clearly to customers.

Provide excellent customer service and represent the company professionally on every service call.
Required Qualifications
-
Journeyman or Master HVAC License (or ability to obtain).

EPA Universal Certification (required).
-
5+ years of experience servicing commercial or industrial HVAC systems.

Hands-on experience with cooling towers, boilers, and chillers (Trane, Carrier, York, Daikin, BAC, Marley, etc.).

Strong proficiency in mechanical, electrical, and control troubleshooting.

Ability to work independently in the field with limited supervision.

Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
