Darwin is assisting a well-established marine service provider with their search for Marine Diesel Technicians.

The Marine Diesel Technicians support the maintenance, repair, and overhaul of marine diesel engines and related systems in both workshop and field environments. Working under the direction of a Service Engineer or Job Leader, this role involves hands-on technical work, travel to vessel sites, and adherence to strict safety and quality standards. Key Responsibilities

  • Assist Service Engineers and Job Leaders with maintenance, repair, and overhaul of marine diesel engines and auxiliary systems.
  • Perform mechanical tasks in both workshop and onboard vessel environments.
  • Support troubleshooting and diagnostics on 2-stroke and 4-stroke marine engines.
  • Follow job scopes, work instructions, and safety procedures during all service activities.
  • Assist with engine disassembly, inspection, measurement, and reassembly tasks.
  • Help prepare tools, equipment, and materials required for service jobs.
  • Document work performed and support completion of service reports as required.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment at all times.
  • Travel domestically and internationally to support field service projects.
  • Participate in training and skill development to advance technical competency.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 5 years in servicing marine diesel engines.
  • Exposure to European and Asian engine platforms such as (MAN, Wärtsilä, Sulzer, Mitsubishi, Yanmar, Daihatsu, Bergen, etc.).
  • Authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship.
  • Eligible to obtain and maintain a TWIC card.
  • Eligible to obtain and maintain a U.S. passport.
  • Willingness to relocate to the Tampa Bay area.
  • Willingness to travel domestically and internationally up to 50% of the time.
  • Basic knowledge of mechanical tools, equipment, and safety procedures.
  • Strong work ethic, reliability, and willingness to learn.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team-based and field-oriented environment.
