Darwin Recruitment are currently hiring for an RF Engineer on behalf of a company in Aalborg, Denmark that was founded in 2015 and is a satellite engineering company specializing in the design and production of micro and nanosatellites. Based in Aalborg, Denmark, the company focuses on providing modular and scalable satellite solutions ranging from 10 kg to 150 kg, catering to various space missions including science, security, and connectivity. They offer a series of standard avionics products within power, on-board computers, radio communication, and ADCS systems and also fully integrated satellite missions. Furthermore, they understand the need for tailoring and customising the individual missions, hence they also provide engineering services for custom development and mission design.

Your Responsibilities

* Design, analyze, and optimize RF communication systems, including antennas, RF frontends, and transmission lines.

* Develop link budgets and system-level analyses to ensure optimal communication performance in space.

* Perform RF testing, validation, and debugging of satellite communication systems, ensuring compliance with performance specifications.

* Lead the design and integration of high-reliability RF solutions, tailored for the rigors of space.

* Conduct performance analyses, such as S-parameters, noise figures, gain, and radiation patterns and lead anechoic chamber measurements and verification.

* Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate RF solutions into satellite platforms, ensuring seamless system-level performance.

* Perform root cause analysis of RF subsystem issues and recommend corrective measures.

* Stay updated on the latest RF technologies, standards, and methodologies, and integrate them into our projects.

Qualifications

* Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, RF Engineering, Telecommunications, or a related field.

* Minimum 5 years of proven experience in RF engineering, including design, PCB design, layout and routing, testing, and optimization of RF solutions.

* Strong understanding of RF communication principles, frontend design, software-defined radios, modulation schemes, and system-level design.

* Preferably experience with amplifier linearization techniques such as DPD and simulation environments such as Ansys or HFSS.

* Hands-on experience with RF testing tools and equipment (e.g., network analyzers, spectrum analyzers, and signal generators).

* Expertise in antenna design and analysis, including radiation patterns and impedance matching.

* Familiarity with reliability standards for space applications, including radiation-hardening techniques.

* Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team and communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

* A structured and innovative mindset with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
