BIM Design Engineer (Data Center Projects – Dubai)

General Conditions

• Daily Rate: Approx AED 25,000-45,000 per month
• Location: Dubai
• Duration: Minimum 12 months
• Start Date: ASAP

As a Data Center Design Engineer (BIM), you will play a key role in the design and coordination of mission-critical data center projects across the Middle East. You will work closely with multidisciplinary design teams, project managers, and construction teams to develop coordinated BIM models and technical deliverables that meet stringent performance, redundancy, and constructability requirements.

The role is based in Dubai, with involvement across concept, detailed design, and construction support phases.

Role and Responsibilities

• Develop detailed 3D BIM models for data center systems, including mechanical, electrical, and associated infrastructure (cooling systems, power distribution, containment, and auxiliary systems).
• Translate design intent, single-line diagrams, schematics, and technical specifications into fully coordinated BIM models using Autodesk platforms.
• Work closely with architects, structural engineers, MEP designers, and specialist vendors to ensure seamless integration of all data center systems.
• Proactively identify risks related to space constraints, access, maintenance clearances, and phased construction in live or mission-critical environments.
• Produce coordinated 2D design drawings, shop drawings, and installation details derived from accurate BIM models.
• Maintain structured model data suitable for handover, asset management, and facilities operations.
• Manage model revisions and design changes throughout the project lifecycle.
• Support design optimization for performance, efficiency, resilience, and maintainability of data center systems.

Skills and Requirements

• Strong proficiency in BIM and design tools, including Revit, AutoCAD, Navisworks, and related Autodesk platforms.
• Solid understanding of BIM workflows, data structures, content standards, and coordination processes.
• Understanding of data center design principles, including cooling strategies, redundancy concepts (N, N+1, 2N), power distribution, and equipment layouts (nice to have).
• Experience working on data centers, mission-critical facilities, or highly serviced buildings is highly desirable.
• Degree or equivalent qualification in Mechanical, Electrical, Building Services Engineering, or a related discipline.
• Strong grasp of building services coordination and system integration.
