Are you a seasoned Telecommunications Payload Engineer ready to take on a highly technical, hands-on role within a leading satellite communications company?
This is a unique opportunity to be involved in designing and developing cutting-edge telecommunications payloads for space applications in a collaborative, research-focused environment.
Based in Lausanne, Switzerland, this role involves the design of complex communication payloads, covering everything from communication chains and transponders to multibeam forming and power management systems. You’ll take part in mission analysis, SWaPC analysis, system and interface definition, and lead collaboration with external contractors. In addition to payload design, you’ll be involved in the entire lifecycle-preparing payloads for launch, integration, and in-orbit commissioning.
This position requires an experienced engineer with 8-10 years in satellite communication payloads, particularly those launched for LEO, MEO, and GEO missions. An ideal background includes hands-on expertise in payload architectures, amplifier and phased array technologies, FPGA for space, and inter-satellite links. Additionally, experience with digital beamforming and regenerative payloads is essential, along with familiarity in payload operations and network management.
With Switzerland’s attractive salary levels and Lausanne’s vibrant lifestyle, this role is based full-time onsite. Relocation to Lausanne is required, as this is a hands-on role. EU citizenship is ideal due to ITAR restrictions, though candidates from other eligible countries may be considered.
