Job Title: Safety Procedures Coordinator – Project Safety Oversight

Job Overview:
The Safety Procedures Coordinator is responsible for overseeing safety processes across various projects, particularly focusing on operational safety protocols and coordination of safety activities. This role includes performing safety inspections, issuing work permits, conducting audits, and ensuring adherence to regulatory safety standards. The coordinator will also manage training programs, perform risk assessments, and maintain the safety documentation to support operational efficiency and compliance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and manage safety-related documents and protocols across multiple projects.
- Monitor the compliance of safety standards and regulations, ensuring they are strictly followed.
- Communicate and implement updates regarding changes in laws or safety regulations.
- Oversee the training of staff on safety procedures and ensure all relevant courses are completed.
- Approve processes for separating and isolating operational and mechanical systems.
- Alert teams to potential risks during specific operational tasks such as equipment tests or power system interactions.
- Maintain clear and open communication lines between teams regarding safety protocols throughout the project’s phases.
- Conduct regular safety audits to ensure the following:
- Compliance with work permit (PTW) procedures.
- Adherence to isolation procedures (LOTO).
- Accuracy of safety registers and their alignment with field conditions.
- Ensure that the team is following appropriate safety practices within the automation groups.
- Continue the implementation of a safety incentive program, including raffles, suggestion systems, and regular communication sessions during the project lifecycle.
- Ensure safety standards are continuously improved during project execution.
- Document and report any incidents or accidents related to the project work.
Required Profile:
- Education: Degree or equivalent technical qualification in safety, engineering, industrial, or mechanical disciplines. Safety certifications from recognized institutions (e.g., industry-specific safety certificates) are preferred.
- Experience: At least five years of experience in safety roles within industrial settings (chemical, pharmaceutical, or similar sectors). Hands-on experience with safety lockout/tagout (LOTO) activities is essential.
- Skills/Knowledge:
- In-depth understanding of construction and industrial safety standards, with a focus on project safety management.
- Familiarity with safety regulations and codes, particularly in the context of the Swiss industrial sector.
- Strong communication skills for delivering training and conducting audits.
- Ability to define, streamline, and optimize safety-related processes across projects.
- Fluency in English is a must, with intermediate proficiency in a second language (e.g., German, B2 level or higher).
