Senior UAV Engineer – Defence – Netherlands
Darwin Recruitment have partnered with a leader in UAV technology innovation within the Netherlands who are playing a key role in levelling-up European Defences.
You would work from concept to product release, overseeing hardware & software UAV integration to ensure reliability, functionality and optimal performance. A range of R&D projects, focused on innovation to get stuck into.

Experience of Interest
- Industry experience in complex UAV Systems Integration.
- Bachelor and/or Masters degree in Robotics, Mechanical, Electrical, Aerospace Engineering.
- Hardware-software integration, system troubleshooting, and debugging.
- Good understanding of UAV systems regulatory standards (e.g., FAA, EASA).
- Expertise in PX4, custom autopilot systems, and communication protocols.
- Experience of integration (ISR, thermal sensors, cameras, LIDAR, C2 systems)
- Knowledge of UAV power management and optimisation, integrating RF links, mesh networks, and UxV connectivity.
- Microcontrollers and real-time operating systems.
- Telemetry interpretation, video stream evaluation, and sensor data analysis for real-time and post-mission assessments.
Pay around €70,000 – €80,000 per year, some flexibility dependent on experience.
