Overview of the Role

We are working with a leading international defence technology organisation that develops advanced mission-critical systems for government and defence customers worldwide. They are looking to hire a Senior Development Engineer specialising in RF Signal Processing to support the development of next-generation sensing, radar, and high-frequency electronic systems.

This is a highly technical position focused on the design, simulation, development, integration, and verification of complex RF and digital signal processing solutions used in advanced defence applications. The successful candidate will work across the full development lifecycle, collaborating with multidisciplinary engineering teams and external partners to deliver cutting-edge technology into operational environments.

Candidate Profile

Essential

• Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Physics, Mathematics or a related discipline
• Several years of experience in RF signal processing and digital signal processing algorithm development
• Strong understanding of the integration of signal processing algorithms within larger system architectures
• Experience developing and analysing complex DSP algorithms for radar or other high-frequency applications
• Knowledge of analogue and digital electronic systems
• Experience using MATLAB/Simulink for modelling, simulation and algorithm development
• Programming experience in C/C++
• Strong analytical, problem-solving and troubleshooting capabilities
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
• Ability to work independently whilst collaborating effectively within multidisciplinary teams

Required / Highly Preferred

• Experience creating simulation models of RF subsystems and assemblies
• Background in radar systems, RF sensors, electronic warfare systems or related technologies
• Experience supporting system integration, verification, validation and environmental qualification activities
• Ability to develop technical specifications and support implementation activities
• Experience producing engineering documentation within structured development environments
• Previous involvement in fault investigation, root cause analysis and corrective actions
• Experience working with external suppliers, subcontractors or research institutes

Beneficial

• Experience within the defence, aerospace, security or highly regulated technology sectors
• Understanding of missile systems, air defence systems or advanced sensor technologies
• Familiarity with formal systems engineering and verification methodologies
• Experience working in international engineering environments
• Willingness to undertake occasional domestic and international travel
• Knowledge of development processes used within safety-critical or mission-critical systems environments
