Technical Superintendent – Papua New Guinea (Tax-Free Package)

Salary: €6,900 NET/month
Contract: 3-year visa | First 3 months €520/day

About the Role

As the Technical Superintendent, you will oversee the full technical performance of a regional fleet of tugboats and container vessels. This position is ideal for someone who thrives in hands-on environments, enjoys autonomy, and can deliver high standards across vessel availability, repairs, and compliance.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead all planned and unplanned maintenance activities
• Manage dry-dock planning, budgeting, and execution
• Ensure vessel compliance with class, flag, and HSE standards
• Monitor technical performance and troubleshoot critical failures
• Liaise with technical teams, shipyards, and suppliers
• Oversee spare parts, procurement, and technical inventory
• Provide onsite support across regional operations

Requirements

• Proven experience as a Technical Superintendent or similar role
• Strong background with tugboats and container vessels
• Solid understanding of mechanical, propulsion, and auxiliary systems
• Ability to work independently in a remote operational environment
• Excellent reporting, organisational, and leadership skills
