Job Title: Newbuilding Superintendent
Location: Hamburg, Germany

Role Overview:
We are seeking a Newbuilding Superintendent to join our Shipmanagement team. In this
role, you will oversee newbuilding projects from initial design review through to vessel
delivery, ensuring compliance with technical specifications, maritime regulations, and
company quality standards. You will work closely with shipyards, classification societies,
regulatory bodies, and internal stakeholders to deliver projects safely, on time, and within
budget.

Key Responsibilities:
* Review and comment on ship designs, specifications, and project drawings.
* Approve technical drawings and ensure alignment with latest shipbuilding
technologies.
* Evaluate technical solutions and suppliers considering maintenance costs, durability,
regulatory compliance, and usability in daily ship operations.
* Review and compare technical agreements prior to maker selection.
* Liaise with classification societies, flag administrations, and regulatory authorities.
* Negotiate specifications, system drawings, and 3D designs in coordination with the
head of department and owners’ representatives.
* Attend vessel sea trials and major equipment Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT).
* Support and oversee site teams during construction.
* Report project progress, risks, and outcomes to the head of newbuilding and
projects.

Requirements:
* Degree in Marine Engineering, Naval Architecture, or a related field.
* Significant experience as Chief Engineer, 2nd Engineer, or equivalent in a responsible
position.
* Preferably experience as a newbuilding site team member at a shipyard.
* Basic understanding of business administration (reporting, budget planning).
* Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with fluency in English (German
preferred).
* Ability to adapt to diverse international work cultures.
* Flexibility and willingness to travel internationally.
