Vibration & Environmental Test Technician

Bay Area, California (Onsite)

$40-$55/hr | Full-Time, Hourly

We’re working with a fast-moving aerospace company building flight-ready satellite hardware and propulsion systems. Right now, they’re looking for a hands-on Vibration & Environmental Test Technician to join their growing test and integration team.

This is a key role supporting environmental testing across a range of flight hardware. You’ll work closely with engineers to set up and run critical vibration, shock, and thermal tests on components that will actually launch into orbit.

They’ve got a fully equipped lab with commercial electrodynamic shakers and test controllers. What they need is someone who knows how to use them – ideally with experience running sine, random, and shock profiles using tools like NI LabVIEW or similar custom setups.

What You’ll Do

• Set up and run vibration and shock tests on satellite hardware
• Work with electrodynamic shakers and environmental chambers
• Instrument test setups using accelerometers, load cells, strain gauges, etc.
• Assemble and calibrate DAQ systems
• Collect and interpret test data, troubleshoot anomalies
• Support report generation and documentation for engineering teams
• Help maintain the lab, test equipment, and safety standards

What They’re Looking For

• 2+ years hands-on experience running vibration/environmental tests
• Familiarity with shakers, shock machines, and vibration test controllers
• Ability to read technical drawings and follow procedures with precision
• Strong mechanical skills and attention to detail
• Experience with MIL-STD-810, NASA GEVS, or similar test standards is a plus
• Bonus: Experience with thermal vacuum (TVAC) or other environmental test setups

This team is looking for someone who’s comfortable working with hardware, understands how to get good data, and takes pride in precision testing. Many of their current team members came from airframe or defense backgrounds, so if you’ve worked in aircraft test environments, you’ll feel right at home.
