Job Title: HSE Manager (12-Month Contract)
Location: Catalonia, Spain

Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) Manager to join our pharmaceutical manufacturing facility in Catalonia, Spain, on a 12-month contract. The HSE Manager will be responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining health, safety, and environmental programs to ensure compliance with local regulations, industry standards, and corporate policies. This role requires a proactive and hands-on professional with a strong background in the pharmaceutical sector.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop, implement, and manage HSE policies, procedures, and programs in line with Spanish and EU regulations.

  • Conduct risk assessments, hazard analysis, and site inspections to identify and mitigate risks.

  • Ensure compliance with all relevant environmental, health, and safety legislation, including ISO 45001, ISO 14001, and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP).

  • Lead HSE training programs and awareness campaigns for employees at all levels.

  • Monitor and report on HSE performance, incidents, and near misses, ensuring root cause analysis and corrective actions are effectively implemented.

  • Manage emergency response and crisis management plans.

  • Liaise with regulatory authorities, external auditors, and company stakeholders regarding HSE compliance.

  • Promote a strong safety culture through leadership, engagement, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Occupational Health & Safety, Engineering, or a related field.

  • Minimum 7+ years of experience in an HSE role, preferably within pharmaceutical or chemical manufacturing.

  • Strong knowledge of Spanish and EU health, safety, and environmental regulations.

  • Experience with ISO 45001, ISO 14001, and GMP compliance.

  • Demonstrated ability to conduct risk assessments, audits, and incident investigations.

  • Excellent communication and leadership skills with the ability to influence and drive change.

  • Fluent in Spanish and English (both written and verbal).

  • NEBOSH, IOSH, or equivalent HSE certification is a plus.

Contract Details:

  • Duration: 12 months (Fixed-Term Contract)

  • Start Date: ASAP

  • Location: On-site in Catalonia, Spain

  • Compensation: Competitive salary based on experience
