Job Description: Commissioning Electrical Engineer (Data Centres)

Role Overview

We are seeking a detail-oriented and driven Commissioning Electrical Engineer to join our expanding engineering team in Norway. In this role, you will play a vital part in the testing, validation, and seamless handover of mission-critical electrical infrastructure for our next-generation sustainable data centres.

Key Responsibilities

• Execute Commissioning: Lead Level 1 through Level 5 commissioning activities for electrical systems, including UPS units, backup diesel generators, medium/low voltage switchgear, and transformers.
• Ensure Compliance: Verify that all installations comply strictly with local Norwegian electrical regulations (DSB), international standards (IEC/IEEE), and project specifications.
• Documentation: Review, develop, and approve Method Statements, Risk Assessments (RAMS), and comprehensive testing documentation.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Coordinate closely with general contractors, vendors, and the wider project management team to resolve site issues swiftly.
• Safety Leadership: Uphold the highest standards of electrical safety, adhering to Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures and site safety protocols at all times.

Requirements & Qualifications

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a relevant technical discipline.
• Experience: 3+ years of hands-on experience in electrical commissioning, testing, or maintenance within data centres, pharmaceuticals, or heavy industrial environments.
• Technical Knowledge: Deep understanding of power distribution systems, backup power architectures, and SCADA/BMS integration.
• Language Skills: Professional fluency in English is mandatory; proficiency in Norwegian or another Scandinavian language is a strong advantage.
• Attributes: Strong troubleshooting skills, effective communication, and a willingness to travel to various data centre build sites across Norway.
