SAP S/4HANA Programme Delivery Director- Must be Open to Travel

A major international organization is undertaking a long-term, multi-country SAP S/4HANA transformation across Europe.

We are seeking an experienced SAP S/4HANA Programme Delivery Director to provide senior leadership across programme mobilization, template rollout, delivery governance, testing, training, cutover, go-live and post-go-live stabilization.

This is a long-term contract opportunity for a senior SAP programme professional who has led complex ERP transformation programmes involving multiple countries, business functions and delivery partners.

Key responsibilities

– Lead integrated delivery of a multi-country SAP S/4HANA transformation.

– Establish programme governance, reporting, decision forums and escalation routes.

– Coordinate internal business teams, systems integrators and specialist suppliers.

– Manage dependencies across Finance, Procurement, Sales, Supply Chain, Manufacturing, Data, Integration, Security, Testing, Change and Cutover.

– Govern the relationship between the global template and local business or statutory requirements.

– Own programme schedule, risks, issues, dependencies, budget and resource planning.

– Establish readiness criteria for design, testing, training, cutover, go-live and hypercare.

– Lead executive reporting and stakeholder communications.

– Manage partner performance, deliverables, quality and delivery risk.

– Identify resource gaps and coordinate additional programme and workstream capability.

– Lead mobilization, rollout and stabilization activity for future deployment waves.

– Ensure lessons learned are captured and applied to subsequent rollouts.

Required experience

– Proven senior leadership experience on major SAP S/4HANA programmes.

– Experience delivering multi-country ERP transformations or template rollouts.

– Strong understanding of SAP ECC-to-S/4HANA transformation.

– Experience coordinating systems integrators, specialist partners and internal stakeholders.

– Demonstrable experience with testing, cutover, go-live and hypercare.

– Strong programme governance, RAID management and executive-reporting capability.

– Experience working across Finance and multiple operational functions.

– Experience managing business readiness, change, training and adoption.

– Excellent stakeholder-management and communication skills.

– Ability to work across countries, cultures and complex organizational structures.

– Excellent English communication skills.

Desirable experience

– Experience in manufacturing, consumer goods, food and beverage, retail, logistics or distribution.

– SAP Activate or equivalent delivery-framework experience.

– RISE with SAP or SAP S/4HANA Cloud experience.

– SAP BTP, integration, data migration or analytics experience.

– Experience with European localization, tax and statutory requirements.

– Additional European language capability.

– Experience with global templates and phased country deployments.

– Experience with SAP Ariba, Concur, SuccessFactors or connected SAP platforms.

Contract deliverables

– Validate the integrated programme plan and delivery model.

– Confirm governance, decision rights and escalation routes.

– Assess partner performance and programme capability.

– Identify critical delivery, resource and dependency risks.

– Establish rollout-readiness criteria.

– Review testing, training, cutover and hypercare plans.

– Lead executive programme reporting.

– Support mobilization and delivery of the next major rollout phase.

– Establish repeatable methods for future country deployments.
