Senior Wafer Process Engineer (III-V Semiconductors)

Location: Paris Region, France

About the Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced Senior Wafer Process Engineer to join our Research & Development team based in the Paris region. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the development and industrialization of next-generation III-V semiconductor laser technologies within a collaborative, international environment.

As a wafer process expert, you will play a key role in developing and optimizing manufacturing processes for InP- and GaAs-based laser diodes. You will work closely with engineering, reliability, and manufacturing teams to improve process performance, increase yield, reduce manufacturing costs, and support the successful transfer of technologies into production.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop, optimize, and qualify wafer fabrication processes for InP- and GaAs-based laser diodes.
  • Lead process development activities involving:
    • Photolithography
    • Wet and dry etching
    • Metal deposition
    • Thin-film technologies
  • Collaborate with engineering teams to improve manufacturing efficiency, yield, and process robustness.
  • Work with the reliability team to evaluate the impact of wafer processing on device performance and long-term reliability.
  • Evaluate, qualify, and support external semiconductor foundries used for outsourced manufacturing.
  • Collaborate with foundry partners to implement, optimize, and monitor manufacturing processes.
  • Support the transition of R&D developments into scalable production processes.

Qualifications

Required

  • Minimum 5 years of industrial experience in III-V wafer processing.
  • Strong expertise in:
    • Wet and dry etching
    • Photolithography
    • Metal deposition
    • Thin-film processing
  • Experience in industrial or high-volume manufacturing of III-V semiconductor devices.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work within multidisciplinary teams.
  • Fluent in English.

Preferred

  • Understanding of III-V laser diode technology.
  • Experience with InP and/or GaAs semiconductor processing.
  • French language skills.
