Imagine being the person who designs and leads a full testing operation for one of Europe’s most exciting deep‑tech photonics startups. You won’t just run the tests, you’ll define how they’re done, what equipment is used, and how results shape the future of integrated optics.

You’ll be the first senior hire in characterization, reporting directly to the leadership team and building processes from scratch.

You’ll set up and run the wafer‑level testing and die qualification flow, shape the testing lab, and define key procedures and protocols. From building out the measurement infrastructure to managing the data pipelines and results analysis, this is your show to run. You’ll be collaborating across teams; design, integration, fabrication, to ensure your insights directly shape product decisions.

If you’ve tested wafers at scale, especially in the semiconductor industry, this could be your chance to step into a bigger challenge and actually lead the build-out of something new.

What you’ll need to bring:

· 5-10 years’ hands-on testing experience in the semiconductor or integrated photonics industry

· Strong experience with wafer‑level and die‑level testing protocols

· Confidence with lab setup, equipment selection, and procedure development

· A mindset geared toward industrial scale-up and continuous process improvement

· Bonus points if you can script in Python or build out automation flows, but it’s not essential
