Overview

We are seeking an experienced, hands-on Commissioning Engineer to support the delivery of a large-scale data centre project in Ireland. The successful candidate will be responsible for the execution of commissioning, testing, and validation activities for critical infrastructure systems, ensuring all assets are delivered safely and in strict accordance with project specifications and design intent.

This role provides an excellent opportunity to work on a high-profile mission-critical facility, collaborating with leading contractors, equipment vendors, and client commissioning teams.

Key Responsibilities

• Execute hands-on commissioning activities for critical mechanical, electrical, or controls systems within a live data centre construction and testing environment.
• Review and provide feedback on commissioning scripts, method statements, vendor test procedures, and technical documentation.
• Support and drive Level 1 to Level 5 commissioning activities, culminating in Integrated Systems Testing (IST).
• Witness, validate, and document the testing of critical equipment (e.g., generators, UPS systems, chillers, AHUs, and switchgear).
• Coordinate daily testing schedules with construction teams, equipment vendors, and subcontractors.
• Monitor installation quality to identify and report any deficiencies impacting commissioning readiness.
• Verify that all systems and integrated networks operate in accordance with client requirements and sequence of operations.
• Produce precise commissioning reports, track punch-list items, and maintain detailed test records for project close-out.
• Support the troubleshooting, root-cause analysis, and resolution of system defects and performance issues.
• Ensure all testing activities are performed safely and in strict compliance with project health, safety, and quality standards.

Candidate Requirements

• Previous experience as a Commissioning Engineer focusing on MEP systems within data centre, mission-critical, pharmaceutical, or large-scale industrial projects.
• Strong practical understanding of commissioning sequences, standards, and documentation requirements.
• Experience participating in Level 5 Integrated Systems Testing (IST) within hyperscale or colocation data centre environments is highly desirable.
• Ability to read and interpret complex technical drawings, electrical single-line diagrams, P&IDs, and specifications.
• Excellent written and spoken English language skills.
• Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and technical problem-solving capabilities.
• Eligible to live and work in Ireland.
