Electrician – Harbour & Ferry Operations

Overview

A leading Northern European ferry operator is looking to hire an Electrician to support harbour infrastructure and onboard ferry electrical systems. This is a hands-on maintenance role within a 24/7 operational environment supporting passenger and freight ferry services between Germany and Scandinavia.

The position involves maintenance, repair, and upkeep of both shore-based and vessel electrical systems, working closely with harbour operations and maintenance teams.

Key Responsibilities

• Maintenance and repair of electrical systems within harbour facilities

• Electrical maintenance of ferry infrastructure including gangways, bridges, and automooring systems

• Maintenance of shore-side systems such as lighting, barriers, buildings, and control systems

• Installation and commissioning of electrical, data, and telephone systems

• Support electrical work onboard ferries when required

• Participate in on-call duty rota

Candidate Profile

• Qualified Electrician, Electronics Technician, or Industrial Electrician

• Practical, hands-on maintenance mindset

• Experience within industrial, maritime, port, or heavy operational environments preferred

• Maritime experience beneficial but not essential

• Team-oriented and flexible for 24/7 operational work

• Driving licence required

• German language skills minimum B2 level

• Fluent English preferred

• Open to relocation within commuting distance of the harbour area
