We have a new opportunity with a well-established industrial equipment company for an Industrial Air Compressor Service Manager based in Arvada/Denver, Colorado. This is a leadership role overseeing a team of field service technicians and support staff while managing the day-to-day operations and profitability of the compressed air service department.
Salary: $90,000-$125,000/year + Performance Incentive
The Role:
- Lead and manage Field Service Technicians, Dispatch, Service Coordination, and Technical Service personnel.
- Oversee preventative maintenance, emergency breakdowns, diagnostics, repairs, rebuilds, startups, installations, warranty work, and rental services.
- Prioritize and coordinate daily service calls, technician schedules, customer requirements, parts, and on-call coverage.
- Recruit, train, coach, and develop compressed air service technicians.
- Provide technical leadership across rotary screw, reciprocating, oil-free, centrifugal compressors, dryers, filtration, controls, blowers, vacuum, and related systems.
- Act as the escalation point for major equipment failures, customer complaints, callbacks, and quality issues.
- Manage service agreements, customer retention, quoting, invoicing, warranty recovery, and overall customer satisfaction.
- Own service revenue, gross profit, labor utilization, realized labor rates, overtime recovery, and departmental financial performance.
- Maintain accurate service records and workflows using SAGE 100 or comparable ERP/field-service software.
- Work closely with Sales, Parts, Engineering, Installation, Accounting, HR, and senior leadership.
Requirements:
- Minimum 3 years of direct supervisory or management experience involving field technicians, dispatch, scheduling, and customer escalations.
- Strong knowledge of industrial compressed air systems, particularly rotary screw and reciprocating compressors.
- Experience with air dryers, filtration, drains, receivers, controls, and mechanical/electrical/pneumatic systems.
- Understanding of service economics, including utilization, labor recovery, gross profit, WIP, service agreements, warranty recovery, and invoicing.
- Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting knowledge.
- Knowledge of OSHA and industrial customer-site safety requirements.
- Strong leadership, communication, organization, and customer-service skills.
- Experience with Microsoft Office and preferably SAGE 100 or a comparable ERP/field-service platform.
- Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record.
- Ability to provide after-hours escalation support and travel to customer sites.
