UKG Integration Expert Consultant

Contract length: 6 months with likely extension
Start date: ASAP, ideally by September 2026
Location: Remote – candidates must be based in Latin America or nearshore Europe
Working hours: Alignment with South African business hours is required
Engagement type: Freelancer / 1099 / B2B / C2C

Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced UKG Integration Expert Consultant to support a complex HR technology integration programme. The consultant will be responsible for integrating UKG with downstream HR applications, using Boomi as a core integration technology.

This is a hands-on technical role requiring demonstrable UKG or Kronos integration experience. Candidates whose backgrounds are primarily in UKG technical consulting may also be considered, provided their integration experience is clearly documented on their CV.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, configure and support integrations between UKG and downstream HR applications.
• Build and maintain integrations using Boomi.
• Analyse integration requirements and translate them into scalable technical solutions.
• Manage data mapping, transformation, validation and error handling.
• Troubleshoot integration failures and resolve data-flow issues.
• Work with HR, payroll, technology and third-party application teams.
• Produce technical documentation covering integration designs, interfaces and support processes.
• Support testing, deployment and post-production stabilisation.
• Work effectively with an international project team during South African business hours.

Essential Experience

• Strong hands-on experience with UKG or Kronos.
• Proven experience integrating UKG with downstream HR applications.
• Practical integration development experience using Boomi.
• Experience delivering UKG integrations in complex enterprise environments.
• A clear understanding of integration architecture, data mapping, transformation and interface monitoring.
• Evidence of relevant UKG integration projects, including project dates and client or company names.
• Strong troubleshooting and stakeholder-management skills.
• Ability to work remotely while consistently aligning with the South African time zone.
• Based in Latin America or a nearshore European location.

Desirable Experience

• Previous experience as a UKG Technical Consultant.
• Experience integrating UKG with HRIS, payroll, benefits, finance, workforce-management or identity platforms.
• Familiarity with APIs, web services, flat-file integrations, SFTP and middleware-based integration patterns.
• Experience working across distributed international teams.
