Job title – Field Service Technician
Client Location – Amsterdam, Netherlands (Port of Amsterdam region)
Client Industry – Maritime / Marine Engineering / Industrial Services
Contract type – Permanent
On-site commitment – Full Time, Field-Based (travel directly from home to customer sites, vessels and harbour locations)
Salary – €3,000 – €4,500 gross per month, depending on experience, plus 8% holiday allowance and pension scheme
Language – Dutch

Project focus

• Carry out electrical troubleshooting, fault finding, maintenance and repairs on vessels, harbour cranes and port equipment.

• Diagnose and resolve breakdowns on customer sites, working with electrically controlled machinery and industrial systems.

• Perform preventive and corrective maintenance, inspections and testing activities.

• Support hydraulic, pneumatic and mechanical troubleshooting across a range of electromechanical systems.

• Provide technical support to customers throughout the harbour environment.

• Assist with commissioning and testing on new vessel builds and onboard systems as the role develops.

Key skills and Experience required

• Background in Electrical Engineering, Marine Engineering, Offshore Engineering, Shipyard Maintenance, Industrial Field Service or Electromechanical Service Engineering.

• Proven experience in electrical fault finding, diagnostics, maintenance and repair.

• Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings and schematics.

• Experience with industrial machinery, electrical control systems, breakdown support and troubleshooting.

• Knowledge of hydraulic, pneumatic and mechanical systems would be advantageous but is not essential.

• A hands-on approach to problem-solving, with a proactive attitude, motivation and willingness to learn.
