About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Wafer Process Engineer to join our R&D team, focusing on the development and optimization of III-V semiconductor processes for InP and GaAs-based laser diodes.
This is a hands-on role at the intersection of process development, manufacturing, and supplier collaboration, with direct impact on device performance, yield, and scalability.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and optimize wafer fabrication processes for III-V laser diodes (InP, GaAs)
- Improve process yield, performance, and cost efficiency
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (engineering, reliability) to assess process impact on device performance and lifetime
- Support technology transfer from R&D to production
- Work closely with external foundries:
- Evaluate and qualify manufacturing partners
- Implement and scale processes in outsourced environments
- Monitor performance and drive continuous improvement
- Contribute to process documentation and standardization
Your Profile
- 5+ years of experience in III-V wafer processing
- Strong hands-on expertise in:
- Lithography
- Wet and dry etching
- Thin-film deposition / metalization
- Experience in industrial or high-volume semiconductor manufacturing
- Familiarity with InP and/or GaAs technologies
- Understanding of laser diodes, photonics, or optoelectronic devices is a strong advantage
- Experience working with or managing external foundries is a plus
Additional Requirements
- Fluent in English (French is a plus)
- Willingness to relocate to the Paris area
- Open to international travel
