Tax Specialist – UKG Ready & Master Tax

Are you a Payroll Tax Specialist who knows your way around UKG Ready and Master Tax and enjoys being the person who solves the problem when things get complicated?

We’re working with a growing organisation looking for a Tax Specialist to join their Finance team. This is a highly important, hands-on role where you’ll take ownership of payroll tax across the business and become the go-to person for all things tax.

This is not a role where you’ll be one of ten people doing the same thing. You’ll be the dedicated Tax Specialist, supported by a wider Finance team, with real ownership and responsibility.

What you’ll be doing

You’ll take responsibility for the full payroll tax lifecycle, including:

• Tax setup and configuration within UKG Ready
• Tax updates, compliance and jurisdiction management
• Payroll tax filings
• Quarterly and year-end tax reconciliations
• Managing and resolving tax notices
• Troubleshooting payroll calculation issues
• Testing and supporting system upgrades
• Working with integrations
• Preparing POA (Power of Attorney) packets for new clients
• Setting up new clients accurately and on time
• Managing approximately 370 EINs per quarter
• Ensuring tax issues are identified and resolved quickly and accurately
• Taking ownership of critical and time-sensitive tax matters

What we’re looking for

You’ll ideally bring:

• 3-5 years’ experience in payroll tax, with 3 years being the minimum
• Strong hands-on experience with UKG Ready
• Experience working as a Tax Specialist
• Experience with Master Tax – the specific tax engine is flexible, so experience with UKG, ADP or another Master Tax environment will be considered
• Strong understanding of payroll tax compliance, jurisdictions, filings and reconciliations
• The ability to work independently and take full ownership of your area
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
