Darwin Recruitment are currently hiring for a Staff Electronics Engineer on behalf of a business in Finland that are operating a constellation of synthetic-aperture radar (SAR) satellites and high-resolution radar imaging of the Earth’s surface available day or night and in all weather conditions since 2014. As a Staff Electronics Engineer, you’ll not only design and deliver the mixed-signal electronics that power their missions, but also set the technical agenda for how the companies engineers spacecraft hardware. You’ll own critical systems end-to-end, shape their long-term hardware strategy, and drive adoption of best practices across teams. Your influence will extend beyond individual boards or subsystems, helping architect solutions that meet today’s demands and smartly scale for the future. This role requires the successful candidate to take ownership of the full cycle with prior experience in working in start-up type environments compared to your typical enterprises.

What you’ll do

* Lead the design, development, validation testing and qualification of high-reliability mixed-signal electronics for our satellites.

* Own technical systems with end-to-end accountability, ensuring they meet mission and scalability needs.

* Use industry trends, data, and internal customer feedback to implement breakthrough ideas that advance our electronics platform.

* Drive engineering discipline and best practices across teams, influencing how the company builds spacecraft hardware.

* Anticipate future needs, architecting systems and processes that keep the company at the forefront of satellite electronics.

* Mentor and multiply the capabilities of the wider engineering organization.

About you

* 10+ years of experience in electronics engineering, preferably in embedded or aerospace systems.

* Proven track record pushing technical boundaries in board-level design, from schematics and PCB layout to simulation and advanced measurement.

* Ability to lead complex, cross-functional hardware initiatives with significant organizational impact.

* Skilled in using data strategically to guide design decisions and influence technical direction.

* Recognized for deep business awareness-designing systems that meet both engineering excellence and business objectives.

* Exceptional communicator and collaborator, trusted to represent the companies technology internally and externally.
