Candidate Profile:

Overview of the role:

We are working with a global technology company specialising in radio communications, test and measurement, and monitoring systems. They are looking to hire a Field Service Technician to independently install, commission, maintain and repair their systems at customer sites, serving as the customer’s main technical contact. The role supports clients in sectors including defence, government and critical communications, working closely with Level 2 Support, Sales and Product Development. This is a hands-on, field-based role for someone who enjoys owning problems end to end and improving service quality.

What you will be doing:

• Installation and Commissioning: Installing and commissioning systems independently, ensuring they are correctly configured to customer requirements
• Maintenance and Repair: Carrying out preventive maintenance and diagnosing and repairing technical faults
• Customer Communication: Keeping customers updated on work status and training them on optimal product use
• Documentation and Reporting: Documenting complex deployments, diagnoses and solutions, and reporting regularly to management
• Proactive Problem Detection: Analysing incidents and trends to prevent future issues and suggest service improvements
• Compliance with Safety and Quality Standards: Ensuring all deployments meet safety guidelines and conducting regular safety checks
• Collaboration with Other Departments: Working with Level 2 Support, Sales and Product Development to solve complex problems and feed back customer insight

Essential:

• Technical qualification in Electrical, Electronics, Mechatronics or a related discipline
• Proven experience installing, commissioning and maintaining technical systems independently
• Strong fault diagnosis and repair skills
• Eligible for Dutch security screening (VGB)
• Customer-facing field service experience, including training customers on product use
• Dutch and English language skills

Required / Highly Preferred:

• Clear, detailed technical documentation and regular reporting to management
• Working knowledge of safety standards, site safety checks and risk assessments

Beneficial:

• Background in radio communications, RF or test and measurement equipment
• Experience spotting recurring faults and driving preventive improvements
• Experience collaborating with L2 support, sales and product development teams
