Marine Painter & Interior Finisher
Position Summary
Seeking experienced Marine Painters & Interior Finishers to support the preparation, finishing, and coating of vessel interiors and exteriors. This is not an entry-level role. Candidates must have prior experience working with wood, fiberglass, and metal surfaces in marine, industrial, or related environments.
Key Responsibilities
* Prepare wood, fiberglass, and metal surfaces for painting and finishing applications.
* Apply paints, primers, varnishes, stains, and protective coatings using brushes, rollers, and spray equipment.
* Clean and prepare surfaces by removing grease, rust, scale, dirt, and other contaminants using solvents and cleaning solutions.
* Sand, scrape, smooth, and repair surfaces using sandpaper, sanding equipment, fillers, putty, plaster, and related materials.
* Mix and match paint, stain, and finish colors to required specifications.
* Apply fillers and surface treatments to prepare materials for finishing.
* Sand and polish surfaces between coats to achieve high-quality finishes.
* Operate spray painting and finishing equipment safely and effectively.
* Maintain a clean and organized work environment while following safety procedures and environmental regulations.
* Perform additional duties as assigned by management or supervisors.
Qualifications
* Previous experience in marine painting, industrial painting, auto body finishing, or interior finishing required.
* Experience working with vessel interiors and exteriors preferred.
* Strong understanding of surface preparation, coatings, and finishing techniques.
* Ability to safely operate spray equipment, sanding tools, and other finishing equipment.
* Attention to detail with a focus on quality workmanship and finish appearance.
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
Physical Requirements
* Ability to lift and move materials and equipment as required.
* Comfortable working in confined spaces, aboard vessels, and in industrial or shipyard environments.
* Ability to stand, bend, climb, and work in varying weather conditions for extended periods.
* Must be able to wear appropriate PPE including respirators and protective clothing when required.
Work Environment
* Full-time position with opportunities for overtime as needed.
* Work performed in shipyards, onboard vessels, and industrial marine environments.
* Exposure to paints, solvents, dust, fumes, and varying environmental conditions may occur.
