Darwin Engineering are currently looking for experienced Commissioning Engineers to join a specialist data centre commissioning partner on a major mission-critical data centre project in Finland.

Project Focus
- Carry out commissioning activities across mechanical, electrical and critical infrastructure systems within a major data centre project.
- Support the delivery of the full Quality Commissioning (QCx) scope.
- Perform and coordinate FAT, SAT, IST and integrated systems testing.
- Inspect, test and verify mechanical and electrical installations to ensure they meet project specifications.
- Ensure systems are safely commissioned, tested and ready for operational handover.
- Identify, troubleshoot and resolve technical issues during commissioning activities.
- Work closely with commissioning managers, project managers, contractors and other engineering teams.
- Complete commissioning documentation, test records, reports and quality assurance checks.
- Ensure all commissioning activities comply with engineering standards, project requirements and Health & Safety procedures.
- Support the development and implementation of commissioning procedures and testing methodologies.
- Assist with technical improvements, system reliability and operational readiness.
- Understand and work with facility grid infrastructure and associated project requirements.
Key Skills and Experience Required
- Degree, HNC/HND or relevant qualification in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Building Services or equivalent experience.
- 3+ years’ experience in commissioning, engineering or mission-critical environments.
- Previous experience working on data centre or critical infrastructure projects.
- Strong mechanical or electrical engineering background.
- Understanding of Quality Commissioning (QCx) and quality assurance processes.
- Experience with FAT, SAT, IST and integrated systems testing.
- Knowledge of MEP systems, BMS, building services and controls.
- Understanding of facility grid infrastructure and associated requirements.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, specifications and technical documentation.
- Strong troubleshooting, problem-solving and communication skills.
- Experience with commissioning software, AutoCAD and relevant professional certifications is desirable.
Compliance and Eligibility Requirements
- Candidates must be self-employed and able to operate on a contract/freelance basis.
- Must hold an EU passport or have existing unrestricted eligibility to work in Finland/EU.
