Job Title: Planning Engineer
Key Role Statement
The Planning Engineer will manage and coordinate planning and scheduling activities for the project as part of the project controls team. This role requires on-site presence in Visp for a minimum of four days per week and is not a hybrid position.
Deliverables
- Manage and update the master Primavera P6 schedule at various levels.
- Track and measure progress in engineering, procurement, construction, and commissioning using various tools.
- Maintain schedule basis documents such as deliverable and interdependency matrices.
- Lead or assist cross-functional teams in interactive planning sessions, ensuring inputs align with site and project planning procedures.
- Monitor schedule deviations and variances, assisting in developing corrective action plans.
- Communicate progress and key milestones to all relevant stakeholders.
- Prepare and provide schedule progress reports, critical path analysis, trending charts, and schedule analysis on a periodic basis.
- Ensure schedule quality and governance, maintaining credibility in schedule data.
- Engage in analyzing integrated project schedules from each discipline.
- Review schedules with project team members regularly to ensure accurate and timely updates.
- Prepare reports in accordance with project procedures and requirements to provide status updates and highlight critical project issues.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Education: Degree or advanced degree from an accredited institution. Preferred fields include Engineering, Science, Quantity Surveying, or Business Management, or equivalent experience.
- Language: Excellent command of English is required; business fluency in German is an advantage.
- Experience: Minimum of 10 years of experience as a project planner on large-scale (≥ 250 Mio CHF) pharmaceutical projects.
- Extensive experience managing, administering, and working within a multi-user Primavera P6 project environment.
- Strong ability to interpret schedule data effectively and communicate relevant insights to senior management.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, along with strong interpersonal and influencing abilities.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
- Experience working in a global environment.
- Knowledge of pharmaceutical projects involving Engineering, Procurement, Construction, and Commissioning (EPCC) contracts.
- Strong analytical skills, with the ability to analyze large datasets, draw meaningful conclusions, and support informed decision-making.
- Ability to manage ambiguity, adapt to shifting priorities, and meet changing demands.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and execute tasks in a fast-paced environment.
