Darwin Space are currently hiring for a Chief Production Officer in Toulouse.

Key Responsibilities

* Partner directly with the CEO to define and execute the company’s production and operational strategy

* Lead end-to-end production activities, including manufacturing, assembly, integration, and testing (AIT) of space systems

* Drive operational excellence, ensuring efficiency, scalability, and adherence to quality and safety standards

* Oversee large, multidisciplinary teams, with prior experience managing 100+ direct reports

* Act as a key decision-maker in executive leadership, contributing to company-wide strategy and growth

* Establish and optimize production processes to support rapid scaling of space missions and services

* Ensure compliance with European and international aerospace regulations and standards

* Manage budgets, timelines, and resource allocation for production programs

* Collaborate cross-functionally with engineering, R&D, supply chain, and mission operations teams

* Represent the company in high-level stakeholder engagements, including partners, investors, and regulatory bodies

Background

* Minimum 20+ years of experience in the space or aerospace industry

* Extensive leadership experience in production, manufacturing, or operations at a senior level

* Proven history of managing large teams (100+ direct reports) in complex organizational structures

* Experience working within high-growth or innovation-driven environments is strongly preferred

* Strong strategic thinking and decision-making capabilities

* Deep understanding of space systems production, AIT processes, and industrial scaling

* Exceptional leadership and organizational management skills

* Ability to operate effectively at executive level alongside CEO and board stakeholders

* Strong communication and stakeholder management abilities

* Results-driven mindset with a focus on operational excellence and delivery

* Fluency in English required; French is a strong advantage

* Willingness to be based in Toulouse or relocate
