Our client is a global renewable energy IPP with 2.1 GW operating and an 8 GW pipeline across onshore wind, ground-mounted PV and battery storage. The German team in Berlin is growing fast, and grid connection is being brought in-house. You’d own that.
The role
Reporting to the Country Manager, you’ll take over grid connection for the German portfolio, currently handled by an external consultancy, working alongside the engineering team in Berlin.
- Leading the grid connection process across the German pipeline (wind, ground-mounted PV, BESS)
- Assessing connection options across technical, financial and regulatory dimensions
- Preparing and submitting applications; managing VNB and TSO engagement to close out agreements
- Coordinating any remaining external advisors through the transition
- Identifying and mitigating risk to keep projects on programme
What we’re looking for
- 2+ years in grid connection within German renewables
- Electrical engineering background
- Onshore wind park experience prioritised. Ground-mounted solar and BESS are also welcome
- Solid grasp of German grid processes and standards (TAR, TAB, VDE-AR-N, EnWG)
- German native or fluent (essential); strong English
- Autonomous and proactive. This is a build-it-yourself seat, not hand-holding
