We’re looking for a Senior Backend Engineer to join a greenfield platform build. You’ll play a key role in designing and delivering scalable backend services, working in a small, high-performing engineering team with a strong ownership mindset.

Responsibilities

• Design and build scalable backend services using NestJS and TypeScript
• Develop REST APIs and event-driven workflows
• Build payment-related integrations and backend processes
• Collaborate on architecture and contribute to technical decisions
• Leverage AI-assisted development to accelerate delivery

Requirements

• Strong TypeScript and NestJS experience
• Experience building scalable backend systems and REST APIs
• Payments or fintech experience (Stripe, Adyen, Braintree, etc.)
• Strong PostgreSQL knowledge and database optimisation
• Experience with event-driven systems or workflow/state machine design
• Daily use of AI coding tools (Claude, Cursor, Copilot, etc.)
• Strong ownership mindset and greenfield experience

Nice to Have

• Docker, AWS, Redis, BullMQ
• Experience with Auth0 or similar authentication platforms
