Senior AOCS/GNC Engineer (Freelance) – Friedrichshafen – Onsite

Duration: 6 months + extensions (multi-year project)

Role Overview

Our client is seeking an experienced Senior AOCS/GNC Engineer to support the design, development, analysis, and verification of AOCS/GNC systems for satellite projects.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and develop AOCS/GNC subsystems.
• Develop and verify AOCS/GNC algorithms and software.
• Perform AOCS/GNC analysis and simulation campaigns.
• Develop modelling, analysis, and simulation tools.
• Provide AOCS/GNC support throughout the satellite project lifecycle.
• Contribute to satellite proposals and system studies.
• Prepare technical documentation.

Skills & Experience

• Master’s degree in Aerospace Engineering or a related discipline.
• At least five years of experience within the space industry, focusing on AOCS/GNC systems and software.
• Strong knowledge of estimation and control theory.
• Experience with MATLAB/Simulink or comparable tools.
• Excellent analytical, conceptual, and problem-solving skills.
• Proactive and able to work effectively within international teams.
• Fluent written and spoken English.
• German language skills are advantageous.
