Project focus
You’ll be the hands-on technical lead for a Ruby on Rails delivery team building and modernising digital services for a UK public sector client. You’ll own the application architecture and API design, set engineering standards, review code, shape the CI/CD pipeline and act as the senior technical voice in conversations with client stakeholders.
Key skills and Experience required
- 5+ years’ commercial experience with Ruby, with deep Ruby on Rails expertise
- Proven track record as a hands-on Tech Lead or Architect on Rails applications
- Strong API design experience (REST, versioning, documentation)
- Solid PostgreSQL skills, including schema design and performance tuning
- Leading code reviews and setting engineering standards and best practice
- Building and improving CI/CD pipelines
- Confident client-facing communicator, comfortable working with technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Experience delivering for UK public sector clients is highly desirable
- Must be based in Portugal, Poland or Romania
