GNSS Algorithm Development Engineer – Delft, Netherlands
Darwin Space are partnering with a deep-tech semiconductor scale-up developing next-generation GNSS chipset technology. The team is scaling and looking to strengthen its core capability in GNSS algorithm development.
The Opportunity
This role sits within a specialist engineering team focused on ultra-low power GNSS technology for high-performance positioning systems.
The core focus is GNSS acquisition and tracking, developing and refining the signal processing algorithms that sit at the heart of embedded chipset performance.
They are specifically looking for engineers with strong GNSS or satellite systems backgrounds, with a focus on hands-on algorithm development.
The Role
You will be directly involved in the development and optimisation of GNSS acquisition and tracking algorithms used in real-time embedded systems.
This is a hands-on engineering role focused on building and improving core signal processing functionality running on embedded hardware.
Key Responsibilities
* Develop and optimise GNSS acquisition and tracking algorithms
* Work on real-time signal processing for embedded GNSS systems
* Implement algorithms in embedded C for hardware constrained platforms
* Support testing, validation and performance analysis of GNSS processing chains
* Collaborate with teams across silicon, FPGA and system integration
* Contribute to simulation and verification of algorithm performance
Candidate Profile
* Strong GNSS background (this is the key requirement, not general DSP)
* Hands-on experience with GNSS acquisition and tracking algorithms
* Embedded C programming experience
* Experience working on embedded platforms
* Background in GNSS or satellite focused engineering (IoT-only DSP experience not relevant)
* Must hold the right to work in Europe (no sponsorship available)
Nice to have
* MATLAB and Python for testing and validation
* Experience with algorithm development and simulation environments
