We are seeking an experienced and strategic Assistant Vice President of Marina Operations to oversee and optimize a luxury Yacht marina and repair facility operations in Pompano Beach, FL. This role provides leadership to project managers and operations teams, ensuring high-quality execution, operational efficiency, and alignment with organizational goals. The AVP of Operations will drive continuous improvement, foster a culture of excellence in client service, and contribute directly to the company’s growth and success.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead day-to-day shipyard operations, including repairs, maintenance, and project execution.
- Develop and implement operational strategies to enhance efficiency, revenue, and service quality.
- Provide leadership and guidance to project managers and operations staff.
- Monitor performance metrics, ensuring projects are completed safely, on time, and within budget.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align operations with company goals and vision.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives and innovative solutions across operations.
- Oversee compliance with company policies, safety regulations, and industry standards.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with captains, vessel owners, operators, and vendors.
- Assist executive leadership with financial activities, including budgets, forecasts, and reporting.
- Support business development efforts, including estimating, scheduling, and bidding new projects.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, business administration, or a related field. MBA or advanced degree preferred.
- Minimum 10 years of shipyard or marine operations experience with demonstrated leadership and project management.
- Strong knowledge of shipbuilding processes, marine repair, and industry best practices.
- Proven experience managing teams, budgets, and complex operational workflows.
- Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and organizational skills.
- Ability to coach, influence, and collaborate across all levels of the organization.
- Strong communication skills with clients, vendors, and internal teams.
- Familiarity with operational compliance, safety regulations, and quality standards.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Physically able to perform tasks including climbing, bending, lifting up to 25 pounds, and working in variable environmental conditions.
