About the Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced Medium Voltage (MV) Power Electronics Expert to join an advanced R&D organization developing next-generation power conversion technologies.

This is a highly technical role for an engineer or researcher with deep expertise in medium-voltage, high-power power electronics who wants to work on challenging technologies at the megawatt scale.

You will play a key role in defining, developing and validating new power conversion architectures for applications including Solar PV, Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS), EV charging, data centers and critical power infrastructure.

Your Responsibilities

• Act as a technical authority for Medium Voltage Power Conversion Systems and define technical requirements for future R&D activities.

• Lead the research and development of next-generation MV converter architectures and topologies for high-power applications.

• Develop and evaluate innovative approaches to power conversion, modulation, control and system architecture.

• Take ownership of converter concepts from initial architecture through design, prototyping, laboratory testing, verification and validation.

• Work at MW power levels, addressing challenges around efficiency, power density, reliability, cost and thermal performance.

• Collaborate with universities, research institutes and external technology partners on advanced power-electronics research.

• Identify opportunities for technological innovation and contribute to patents and intellectual property development.

• Provide technical leadership and mentor engineers across multiple disciplines.

• Support the transition of promising technologies from research concepts toward future commercial products.

Your Technical Expertise

We are looking for candidates with a strong combination of theoretical knowledge and practical industrial experience.

You should have:

• A Master’s or PhD in Power Electronics, Electrical Engineering, Electronic Engineering or a related discipline.

• 10+ years of professional experience in medium-voltage and/or high-power power electronics.

• Strong experience with MW-scale power conversion systems and hardware development.

• Deep knowledge of MV converter topologies, modulation techniques, control systems and power-conversion algorithms.

• Experience taking concepts through prototype development, testing, verification and validation.

• Strong understanding of system-level power electronics design and architecture.

• Good knowledge of applicable medium-voltage standards.

• Practical experience with insulation coordination would be highly advantageous.

• Demonstrated experience in technology development, innovation or advanced R&D.

• Experience generating patents or other forms of technical intellectual property is desirable.
