QAQC Engineer – Data Centre Projects

Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented QAQC Engineer to support the quality assurance and quality control delivery for a large-scale data centre project in Ireland. The successful candidate will be responsible for executing day-to-day quality inspections, verifying installations against project specifications, and maintaining the project Quality Management System (QMS).
This is an excellent opportunity to play a vital role in a high-profile, mission-critical project, ensuring that construction and engineering installations meet the highest industry standards before handing over to commissioning.
Key Responsibilities
- Execute day-to-day quality control inspections and field walkthroughs to verify compliance with design drawings and specifications.
- Review, implement, and monitor Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs), material receipts, and subcontractor quality documentation.
- Support Level 1-5 quality checking, ensuring all benchmarks and prerequisites are met prior to system commissioning.
- Witness and document field testing of systems, including hydrostatic, pressure, continuity, and structural integrity tests.
- Coordinate closely with site supervisors, subcontractors, and the QAQC Manager to resolve quality issues on the ground.
- Identify, document, and track non-conformances (NCRs), assisting with root-cause analysis and tracking corrective actions to closure.
- Maintain clear and accurate quality records, including daily logs, progress photos, test reports, and punch lists.
- Compile and verify hand-over packages, “as-built” documentation, and final quality certification books.
- Promote a “right-first-time” quality culture across all mechanical, electrical, and structural site teams.
Candidate Requirements
- Previous experience as a QAQC Engineer, Quality Inspector, or Site Engineer on data centre, mission-critical, pharmaceutical, or major industrial projects.
- Strong understanding of QAQC procedures, ITPs, and standard construction testing methodologies.
- Experience working within hyperscale or colocation data centre environments is highly desirable.
- Ability to accurately read and interpret technical drawings, P&IDs, schematic diagrams, and specifications.
- Excellent written and spoken English language skills.
- Strong attention to detail, organization, and technical problem-solving skills.
- Eligible to live and work in Ireland.
