AIT Technician

Darwin Space are currently hiring for an AIT Technician on behalf of a business in Luxembourg.

Responsibilities

* Manufacture and fabricate custom Multilayer Insulation (MLI) blankets according to engineering drawings, procedures, and quality requirements.

* Cut, assemble, sew, bond, and inspect insulation materials and associated components.

* Prepare materials, tools, and production documentation required for hardware fabrication.

* Support production planning and scheduling activities to meet project milestones.

* Assemble thermal hardware, flight components, and mechanical subassemblies.

* Perform integration activities following established work instructions and engineering procedures.

* Install thermal blankets, heaters, sensors, harnesses, and associated thermal control hardware on spacecraft components and subsystems.

* Verify hardware conformity against drawings, parts lists, and technical specifications.

* Execute functional, performance, and acceptance testing of thermal hardware and assemblies.

* Set up and operate test equipment, instrumentation, and data acquisition systems.

* Record, analyze, and document test results.

* Support thermal vacuum, environmental, and qualification testing campaigns.

* Troubleshoot assembly and test anomalies and collaborate with engineers to identify corrective actions.

* Ensure compliance with quality standards, cleanliness requirements, and configuration control processes.

* Perform inspections and verify workmanship throughout production and test activities.

* Contribute to the development and improvement of manufacturing procedures and work instructions

Qualifications

* Technical diploma, vocational training, or degree in Mechanical, Aerospace, or Manufacturing Engineering, or a related field.

* 5 years of demonstrated working experience with space hardware.

* Hands-on experience in assembly, manufacturing, testing, and integration of mechanical or aerospace hardware.

* Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, assembly instructions, and technical documentation.

* Experience using standard workshop tools and measurement equipment.

* Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.

* Ability to work independently in a fast-paced startup environment.

* Ability to perform precise manual tasks requiring fine motor skills and attention to detail.

* Ability to stand and move around workshop, laboratory, cleanroom, and test facilities for extended periods.

* Ability to safely operate hand tools, power tools, cutting equipment, and measurement instruments.

* Comfortable working in cleanroom environments and wearing required personal protective equipment.

* Ability and desire to relocate to Luxembourg.
