Project focus
- Lead and support the commissioning of new data center facilities, ensuring all systems are delivered to the highest standards.
- Implement commissioning strategies, plans, protocols, and schedules across multiple projects.
- Coordinate with project managers, engineers, contractors, vendors, and operational teams to achieve successful project delivery.
- Oversee the commissioning of critical infrastructure, including electrical, mechanical, and Building Management Systems (BMS).
- Conduct site inspections, witness testing, and functional performance testing to verify compliance with design specifications and industry standards.
- Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve technical issues throughout the commissioning process.
- Ensure all commissioning documentation, reports, and performance records are accurately maintained and completed.
- Support operational readiness by providing training and technical guidance to operations teams.
- Promote and maintain the highest standards of health, safety, and quality throughout all commissioning activities.
- Keep up to date with industry best practices, emerging technologies, and developments within the data center sector.
Key skills and Experience required
- Degree qualified in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a commissioning role, ideally within data centres, critical environments, or mission-critical facilities.
- Strong technical understanding of electrical, mechanical, and HVAC systems.
- Good knowledge of relevant building regulations, industry standards, and compliance requirements.
- Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and project coordination skills.
- Professional commissioning certifications, such as CCP, would be advantageous.
- Fluent English, both written and spoken.
- Proactive and self-motivated, with the ability to take ownership and drive tasks through to completion.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with a practical approach to overcoming challenges.
- Accountable and reliable, delivering on commitments and learning from experience.
