Blade Repair Technician IRATA Level 3

Location

Various Onshore and Offshore Wind Farms Across Europe

We are seeking experienced Blade Repair Technicians with IRATA Level 3 certification to join our growing wind energy operations team. This role involves carrying out advanced composite blade inspections, repairs, and maintenance on wind turbines across multiple onshore and offshore wind farm projects throughout Europe.

The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering high-quality blade repair solutions while maintaining the highest standards of safety, quality, and environmental compliance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform blade inspections, maintenance, and composite repairs on wind turbine blades.
  • Carry out leading-edge repairs, structural repairs, lightning protection system repairs, and gelcoat restoration.
  • Conduct rope access operations in accordance with IRATA guidelines and company procedures.
  • Prepare detailed inspection and repair reports, including photographic documentation.
  • Identify blade defects and recommend appropriate repair methods.
  • Ensure all work is completed in accordance with OEM specifications and industry best practices.
  • Lead and supervise rope access teams during repair activities.
  • Maintain and inspect rope access equipment and tools.
  • Adhere to all HSE regulations, site procedures, and permit-to-work systems.
  • Travel extensively across Europe to support project requirements.

Requirements

  • Valid IRATA Level 3 certification.
  • Proven experience in wind turbine blade inspection and repair.
  • Strong composite repair experience (fibreglass, carbon fibre, resin systems).
  • Previous experience working on major turbine platforms (Vestas, Siemens Gamesa, GE, Nordex, Enercon, etc.).
  • GWO Basic Safety Training (BST) certification.
  • GWO Working at Heights.
  • GWO Manual Handling.
  • GWO First Aid.
  • GWO Fire Awareness.
  • Full, valid driving licence.
  • Ability to travel extensively across Europe and work on rotation schedules.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work within multicultural teams.
  • Fluent English (additional European languages advantageous).
