Overview of the Role
We are working with an innovative engineering company that designs and develops advanced electrical systems for high-performance applications.
As part of their continued growth, they are looking to appoint a Battery Technician to join their engineering team. This is a hands-on position responsible for building, testing and maintaining custom battery systems used in demanding technical environments.
You will be involved throughout the complete battery build process, from cell preparation and pack assembly through to system integration, testing, commissioning and ongoing technical support. Working alongside multidisciplinary engineers, you will play an important role in delivering reliable, safe and high-quality energy storage solutions.

Candidate Profile
Essential
- Technical qualification in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, Automotive Engineering or a similar discipline.
- Previous experience building custom lithium battery packs.
- Strong knowledge of Li-ion and/or LiFePO₄ battery technologies.
- Experience with spot welding, soldering, busbar installation and battery pack assembly.
- Experience installing, configuring and troubleshooting Battery Management Systems (BMS).
- Knowledge of battery testing, diagnostics and fault finding.
- Understanding of electrical safety and best practices when working with high-energy battery systems.
- Familiarity with diagnostic tools and CANbus communication.
- Strong attention to detail and a practical, hands-on approach.
- Fluent English communication skills.
Required / Highly Preferred
- Experience gained within industries such as electric vehicles, robotics, industrial equipment, aerospace, defence, motorsport, marine, automation or renewable energy.
- Experience carrying out product testing, commissioning and technical support.
- Ability to diagnose component-level electrical faults.
- Comfortable working in an R&D or prototype development environment.
