Help Shape the Future of Energy Infrastructure
The energy sector is changing rapidly, and battery storage is at the heart of that transformation.
We’re looking for an Electrical Engineer who wants to play a key role in developing and delivering innovative Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) projects across Germany. This is an opportunity to work on technically challenging projects that support grid stability, renewable energy integration, and the transition to a more sustainable energy future.
If you’re passionate about electrical engineering, enjoy solving complex technical challenges, and want to see the direct impact of your work on real-world energy projects, this could be the role for you.
What You’ll Be Doing
As part of a growing engineering team, you will be responsible for supporting battery storage projects from technical assessment through to implementation.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Developing grid connection and metering concepts for Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS), including projects integrated with photovoltaic (PV) installations.
- Designing and optimising electrical system architectures, including protection, measurement, control, and operating concepts.
- Reviewing site plans, circuit diagrams, single-line diagrams (SLDs), and technical documentation to assess project feasibility.
- Evaluating grid connection requirements and identifying technical opportunities and constraints.
- Acting as the key technical interface between internal teams, grid operators, customers, and external engineering partners.
- Supporting approval, certification, and commissioning activities.
- Providing technical expertise throughout the entire project lifecycle.
- Contributing to the continuous improvement of engineering standards, processes, and best practices.
What We’re Looking For
Essential Requirements
- Degree in Electrical Engineering, Energy Engineering, Renewable Energy, Industrial Engineering (Electrical), or a comparable qualification.
- Alternatively, qualification as a Master Electrician or State-Certified Technician.
- At least 2 years of professional experience within electrical infrastructure, energy systems, grid connection, or medium-voltage environments.
- Strong understanding of electrical networks and grid integration principles.
- Ability to confidently interpret and work with technical drawings, electrical schematics, and SLDs.
- Experience working with utilities, grid operators, EPC contractors, or industrial energy projects.
- Strong analytical skills and a practical, solution-oriented mindset.
Preferred Experience
- Experience with Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS).
- Experience with utility-scale or commercial solar PV projects.
- Knowledge of medium-voltage systems and grid connection processes.
- Familiarity with energy markets, renewable energy integration, or flexibility services.
- Experience with commissioning activities or switching operations.
What Success Looks Like
We’re looking for someone who:
- Takes ownership and enjoys responsibility.
- Thrives in fast-paced, evolving environments.
- Can balance technical excellence with commercial awareness.
- Communicates effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Is motivated by the opportunity to contribute to the energy transition.
What’s on Offer
- Competitive salary and benefits package.
- The opportunity to work on impactful renewable energy and battery storage projects.
- High levels of autonomy and ownership.
- A collaborative and entrepreneurial working environment.
- Exposure to cutting-edge BESS technology and large-scale energy infrastructure projects.
- Career growth opportunities within one of Europe’s fastest-growing energy sectors.
- Modern offices in Berlin and flexible working arrangements.
Diversity & Inclusion
We believe that great teams are built through diverse perspectives and experiences. Applicants from all backgrounds are encouraged to apply. If your experience doesn’t perfectly match every requirement, we would still love to hear from you.
Important Application Requirement
Due to the nature of the role and the regular interaction with customers, grid operators, authorities, and project stakeholders across Germany, only candidates currently based in Germany and able to communicate professionally in German at B2-C1 level (spoken and written) will be considered.
If you’re excited about helping build the next generation of energy infrastructure and want to work on market-leading battery storage projects, we’d love to hear from you.
