Embedded Software Engineer – Deep-tech/Defense Tech Startup – Netherlands Delft

Darwin have partnered exclusively with a Dutch defense-tech company developing passive sensor technology for threat detection in operationally demanding environments. With strong government partnerships already in place, they are scaling their engineering team ahead of a Series A close.

They have built strong technical foundations and are now closing a Series A, scaling their engineering team to take the product from advanced prototype through to market.

As an Embedded Software Engineer you will own the development and optimization of embedded software at the core of their audio technology – implementing algorithms on hardware platforms and collaborating closely with signal processing, hardware, and mechanical engineers.

Experience of Interest
* 2-5 years (Medior) or 5+ years (Senior) in embedded software development.
* Strong C/C++ skills; Rust and Python also valued.
* Solid knowledge of RTOS (FreeRTOS, Zephyr), ARM/RISC-V architectures, board-level buses (I2C), and debugging tools (JTAG).
* Familiarity with build systems, CI/CD pipelines, and Git.
* FPGA experience (LiteX, Verilog/VHDL) is a plus.
* DSP or audio processing background is a strong advantage.
* Startup, scale-up, or R&D environment experience highly valued.
* Dutch and/or English proficiency required.

Pay €4,500-€5,500/month + equity (post Series A). Netherlands Delft based.
