Job Title: Site Manager – Solar PV & BESS (Battery Energy Storage System)
Location: Africa (project-based, remote site)
Employment Type: Full-Time

Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Site Manager to oversee the construction and delivery of a large-scale Solar PV plant combined with a Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) in Africa. This role will be responsible for managing all on-site activities, ensuring projects are delivered safely, on time, and to the highest quality standards. Experience with high-voltage (HV) transmission lines and HV substations is highly desirable.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead and manage all on-site construction activities for Solar PV and BESS projects
• Coordinate subcontractors, suppliers, and site personnel to ensure efficient execution
• Ensure compliance with HSE (Health, Safety, and Environmental) standards and local regulations
• Oversee installation, commissioning, and testing of solar arrays, BESS systems, and associated infrastructure
• Manage project schedules, track progress, and report to senior project stakeholders
• Supervise civil, mechanical, and electrical works, including HV transmission lines and substations
• Identify and mitigate project risks and resolve on-site issues promptly
• Ensure quality control and adherence to engineering specifications and project requirements
• Liaise with clients, consultants, and local authorities as required

Required Qualifications & Experience:

• Proven experience as a Site Manager on utility-scale Solar PV projects
• Hands-on experience with BESS installations is strongly preferred
• Solid background in HV transmission lines and HV substation construction/commissioning
• Strong understanding of EPC project delivery
• Knowledge of international HSE standards and best practices
• Ability to manage multicultural teams in remote site environments
• Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills

Preferred Skills:

• Experience working on projects in Africa or other remote/off-grid locations
• Familiarity with grid integration and power systems
• Relevant engineering qualification (Electrical, Civil, or related field)
